meet the trainers

Andrew Ward

Since finishing at Leeds Metropolitan University with a honours degree in Sport and Exercise I have always been involved in the sport and leisure field. Straight after graduation I went to work as a football coach just outside New York. Upon returning to this country I became a fitness instructor at Spirit Health clubs in Peterborough, this gave me a thorough working knowledge of the fitness industry. In 2002 I was given the opportunity to become a personal trainer with Holmes Place health club in Nottingham, a club renowned for their level of trainers. During the next 3 years I built up a successful client base working with clients to successfully reach a variety of goals.

Gary Ward

Following years of training from a purely personal perspective, I got into personal training as a way of supplementing my winter seasonal work as a ski shop manager in a French Alpine ski resort where I have been recognised as the ski boot fitting expert and provider of orthotics in the area. Personal Training and Sports Therapy qualifications put me head and shoulders above others in my field, allowing me to see every day problems more clearly with a biomechanics and physiological approach. In the intervening summers since qualification in 2001, I ran a small business in my home town providing personal training, fitness and nutritional advice and sports therapy through a local gym. The following summer I headed for the south of France to hunt down the rich and famous, offering personal training and massage services to yachts and villas in and around St.Tropez, Antibes and Monte Carlo. This was not only a lot of fun but successful as well. I have been a sportsman all my life, playing football religiously until my skiing days began and I also began competing on skis two seasons ago. I have great interest in many other sports as well. I have management experience in a pressure environment and have exceptional inter personal skills and motivational abilities. My future now lies wholly in the fitness industry, using a holistic approach, blending massage therapies and personal training with a further view to advising on orthotics and body alignment, if necessary, to provide good foundations for clients to work from.
